A trip to Glass Mine Mountain is not a typical mountain adventure. There is no real trail, just a general direction on an assortment of old wagon roads and fire breaks. After an extended steep hike, you will discover a mica mine that has not been worked for over 110 years. Cuts, digs and mine shafts are quite visible. And if you are into rock hounding, there is quite an assortment of specimens to be found. As an added bonus, not far from the mine ruins is a cliff top vista from which you can see Stone Mountain on a clear day.
