About 25 years ago, a small private plane crashed in the woods near Brattleboro, Vermont. The details of the crash are the subject of legend among locals, but the site itself is a nice destination for a hike. You will see a huge tangle of aircraft aluminum (think of the TV show Lost). The hike is on private land, but isn't near any active residences. As long as hikers are respectful, the local landowners won't have any problem with them completing this beautiful 30-minute to 1-hour hike.
